The story of Penarth Hair Studio

Every brand has a story. Ours began in 2007, in a Twickenham salon, where a chance encounter would quietly shape everything that followed.

Alex, then an apprentice hairdresser, met Rebecca, a college student, when she accepted his offer of a complimentary haircut. What seemed like a simple moment with an instant spark, soon revealed a deeper connection, one that, despite a brief pause in timing, was destined to continue.

A year later, Rebecca returned to the salon chair. This time, everything aligned. That evening led to dinner, and from that point forward, they were inseparable.

Their journey together has been defined by shared ambition and unwavering support. In 2009 Alex followed Rebecca to Cardiff as she pursued her career in nursing, before the two went on to live and travel in Australia. Eventually, they chose to settle in Penarth, drawn to its sense of community, a beautiful place to raise their two little boys and the life they envisioned building together.

Penarth Hair Studio is a natural extension of their journey. A space shaped not only by expertise and creativity, but by history, connection, and a deep-rooted passion for the industry that first brought them together.
